Shipin' & Returnin'
Quick answers on shipping, returns, and exchanges. No fine print, no fuss.
How long do I have to return my order?
Every order’s got a safety net.
- First-timers + Guests: You’ve got 30 days to send it back, no questions asked. Just use our $5 return label and you’re squared away.
- Southern Fringe Members (our email family): You get the VIP lane — 90 days to return and we’ll cover the return shipping too.
Whether you’re a Fringer or a first-timer, you’ll never get stuck with somethin’ you don’t love!
Are returns free?
Depends on how you roll:
- First-timers + Guests: Returns come with a flat $5 label fee — keeps things fair and simple.
- Southern Fringe Members: If you were a Fringer at the time of your order, your returns are totally free.
Either way, we keep it simple — print the label, slap it on, and drop it off.
How do I start a return?
- Email us at returns@themessyhare.com with your order number and the item you’re sendin’ back.
- Within 1–2 business days, we’ll send you a return shipping label.
If you weren’t a Fringer at the time of purchase, we’ll knock $5 off your refund for the cost to ship.
If you were a Fringer, your label’s on us! - Drop it in the mail, and we’ll refund the card you used to buy it.
No exchanges, no hoops — just a clean refund!
How long does it take to get my refund?
Once your return makes it back to us and gets checked in, we’ll process your refund within 1–2 business days.
From there, your bank or card company might take another 3–5 business days to post it back to your account.
We’ll email you a heads-up as soon as the refund’s sent from our end — after that, it’s just a matter of your bank catchin’ up.
How long does it take for my order to ship?
We print every shirt fresh when you order — no dusty warehouse piles here. That’s how we keep prices fair and keep Messy Hare greener than the big brands that overprint and toss the leftovers. 🌱
- Small orders (1–2 items): Usually ship out within 2 business days.
- Bigger hauls (3+ items): Take a little longer — usually 4–6 business days to head out.
Once it’s on the road, total delivery time is typically 4–14 days, with most Fringers seein’ their gear land in about 9 days.
Good things take a minute — but we promise it'll be worth the wait!
Do you offer free shipping?
Yep — orders of $50 or more ship free anywhere in the U.S.
For smaller hauls under $50, it’s just a flat $5 shipping fee.
No gimmicks, no fine print — just a fair deal that makes it easy to grab a couple tees and skip the shipping charge!
Do you ship internationally?
Sure do — our gear doesn’t stop at the Mason Dixon. 🌎

Will I get a confirmation email after ordering?
Sure will. The second you place an order, our system hollers back with a confirmation email that’s got all your details.

Messy Hare Gear
The Southern Fringe is messy, but our answers ain’t! Here’s everything you need to know about our products.
What are Messy Hare tees made of?
Our go-to is the legendary Comfort Colors 1717 tee — 100% ringspun cotton, pre-shrunk, soft-washed, and garment-dyed so it feels like your favorite shirt from day one.
👉 Translation: heavy enough to last, soft enough to nap in, and built with that lived-in Southern comfort fit.
We also roll out designs on tanks, long-sleeves, hoodies, and hats — always premium blanks, always printed fresh just for you!
How do the sizes run? Will my shirt shrink?
Messy Hare tees are printed on Comfort Colors 1717 blanks — they’re pre-shrunk during manufacturing, so you shouldn’t see any major shrinkage after washing.
That said, sometimes they show up feelin’ a little snug right out of the bag. If that happens, just give the shirt a good stretch in all directions before wear — it’ll relax and land right in that true-to-size, lived-in fit Comfort Colors is famous for.
👉 Bottom line: order your normal size and you’ll be set!
How should I wash and care for my Messy Hare gear?
Treat it right and your Messy Hare tee will keep lookin’ sharp — but fair warning: our prints are made to break in, not break down.
- Wash cold, inside out
- Use mild detergent (skip the bleach)
- Tumble dry low or hang dry
- Don’t iron directly on the print
👉 Over time, the print may soften and fade a touch — think less “cheap crack” and more “favorite old band tee you can’t quit wearin’.” It’s that worn-in look that makes it feel like an old friend from the start.
Follow those steps and you’ll keep the balance: soft, lived-in comfort + print that lasts the distance.
How are Messy Hare shirts made?
Every Messy Hare tee is printed fresh, one at a time. We don’t sit on piles of inventory hopin’ it sells.
👉 Here’s why that matters:
- Greener footprint: Big brands crank out thousands, then toss what doesn’t sell. We only print what’s ordered — less waste, less energy, less landfill. 🌱
- Regional printers: Our print partners are spread across the U.S. (and even internationally), so your order ships from the spot closest to your back porch. That means faster, cheaper, and greener shipping.
- Better value: Printing to order keeps our prices fair without sacrificin’ quality.
- Personal touch: Your shirt isn’t pulled off a shelf — it’s made just for you.
So yeah, it might take a couple extra days to ship, but that’s the tradeoff for keepin’ it small-batch, eco-friendly, and downright Messy!
Will the print crack or peel?
No cheap heat-press junk here. We use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing — the ink bonds right into the fabric instead of sitting on top like a sticker.
👉 That means:
- Your design won’t crack or peel off.
- Over time, the print may soften and fade — more like your favorite old concert tee than a thrift-store dud.
- Follow our care tips (cold wash, inside out, low heat dry) and your print will age gracefully, keeping that lived-in look without falling apart.
Bottom line: these shirts are built to wear in, not wear out!
